Plane Tessellation With Musical Scale Tiles And Bidimensional Automatic Composition
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present a method for arranging the notes of certain musical scales (pentatonic, heptatonic, Blues Minor and Blues Major) in the plane by using the idea of plane tessellation with specially designed musical-scale tiles. The motivation of such a representation is described, as well as the mathematical analysis of the possibility of its realization. As a main application of the idea we introduce a bi-dimensional designed automatic composition algorithm, at which we also explore the target-note improvisation paradigm, by using Markov Chains conditioned in certain events.

Counting domains in {p, q} tessellations
For any given regular {p,q} tessellation in the hyperbolic plane, we compute the number of vertices and tiles to be found as we distance from a given point, enabling a complete characterization of the asymptotic behavior.
متن کاملInfinigons of the hyperbolic plane and grossone
In this paper, we study the contribution of the theory of grossone to the study of infinigons in the hyperbolic plane. We can see that the theory of grossone can help us to obtain a much more classification for these objects than in the traditional setting. متن کاملHARMONY: A System for Musical Composition
This paper describes HARMONY: a system that integrates the phases that take part in the creation of a musical composition. The kernel deals with automatic melody generation through fractal algorithms and harmonisation of generated melodies based on traditional theory. The system has been developed in Haskell and works on top of the musical description system Haskore. HARMONY: A System for Music...
متن کاملGeometric Properties of the Adaptive Delaunay Tessellation
Recently, the Adaptive Delaunay Tessellation (Adt) was introduced in the context of computational mechanics as a tool to support Voronoi-based nodal integration schemes in the finite element method. While focusing on applications in mechanical engineering, the former presentation lacked rigorous proofs for the claimed geometric properties of the Adt necessary for the computation of the nodal in...
متن کاملA hierarchical strongly aperiodic set of tiles in the hyperbolic plane
We give a new construction of strongly aperiodic set of tiles in H, exhibiting a kind of hierarchical structure, simplifying the central framework of Margenstern’s proof that the Domino problem is undecidable in the hyperbolic plane [13]. Ludwig Danzer once asked whether, in the hyperbolic plane, where there are no similarities, there could be any notion of hierarchical tiling—an idea which pla...
